Ginny Southworth moved to Aiken in the summer of 1979. One of the attractions to the area for her was the strong horse community
and in particular the thoroughbred industry. She has been shooting photos at the Aiken Training Track for 36 years and has had the
honor of getting to know many of the renowned trainers, riders and support staff that have made the Aiken Training Track so distinguished.

Southworth will discuss the ways to take great equine photos.

She is currently a professor at the University of South Carolina Aiken where she teaches and creates classes for the photography program, which is part of the Visual and Performing Arts Department.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism from Syracuse University and her Master
of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of South Carolina.

Southworth’s early career in photography was as a documentary photographer for newspapers, a field in which she spent over thirty years. During that career she won many awards for her work and has been published in national magazines and newspapers. She has
had her work published in the New York Times, Washington Post, The Blood-Horse magazine, Thoroughbred Record, Associated Press and Sky Magazine. She was the chief photographer at the Aiken Standard for twenty-six years.

Southworth continues to shoot and enjoy the amazing landscape of Aiken and its horses.

Regular exhibition hours are Tuesday - Friday from 2 - 5 pm, Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday
from 2 - 5 pm.
