Equine Rescue of Aiken, (aka, Aiken Equine Rescue) wasestablished in 2006
with almost 80 acres of land. They have eight pastures, thirteen paddocks,
office building and a maintenance barn. Since its founding, Aiken Equine
Rescue has become the largest horse rescue farms in the southeastern United
States. We have placed over 1,800 horses into adopted homes and rescued
many horses, donkeys, and mules. At any given time, between 40-60 horses
reside at Aiken Equine Rescue.

Equine Rescue of Aiken is proud to be accredited by the Thoroughbred
Aftercare Alliance (TAA)*, meeting the highest standards in Thoroughbred
aftercare, rehabilitation and rehoming.

Having a dedicated aftercare program is critical to ensuring the well-being
of these horses beyond their racing careers. With proper support, they can go
on to thrive in new homes, proving time and again their heart, intelligence,
and willingness to fulfill a purpose. With the backing of the TAA and their
dedicated supporters, the Equine Rescue of Aiken continues it's mission of
People Helping Horses, Horses Helping People, one Thoroughbred at a time.

Join the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame as we tour this great facility and learn about their important work.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.

Those taking part should meet at the Rye Patch parking lot, 100 Berrie Road, at 8:45 am and will be transported to the Aiken Training Track by mini-bus.
