​Flint S. "Scotty" Schulhofer

A tribute to Flint S. "Scotty" Schulhofer may be found on the second floor of the Racing Hall of Fame and Museum.  Schulhofer Schulhofer saddled his first winner at Aqueduct in 1962 and won 1,119 races in his career. 

Schulhofer’s victories in major races include the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile with Fly So Free, Breeders’ Cup Sprint with Smile, and two Belmont Stakes scores (Colonial Affair in 1993 and Lemon Drop Kid in 1999). He also won the Travers, Manhattan Handicap, Delaware Handicap, Florida Derby (2), Spinaway Stakes (2), Wood Memorial, Carter Handicap, Saratoga Special (2), Jockey Club Gold Cup, Whitney Handicap (3), Brooklyn Handicap, Suburban Handicap, and Woodward Stakes.

Schulhofer retired as a trainer in 2002.  

He was inducted into the National Racing Hall of Fame in 1992.
