Race Comments: SWALE took over soon after the start, remained well out from the rail while allowed to make his own pace, responded readily to turn back PLAY ON and GATE DANCER leaving the far turn and drew away under intermittent urging. PINE CIRCLE, wide into the backstretch, moved to the inside at the far turn, saved ground into the stretch, came out to split horses leaving the furlong grounds and finished well to best the others. MORNING BOB, never far back, rallied along the inside leaving the far turn, continued his bid until inside the final furlong but lacked a further response. PLAY ON taken back after breaking in front, was allowed to follow the pace while saving ground to the far turn, came out between horses to go after SWALE approaching the stretch but weakened during the drive. COAX ME CHAD saved ground into the stretch, came off the rail for the drive but failed to seriously menace while moving back to the inside nearing the finish. GATE DANCER, reserved behind the leaders while racing well out in the track, rallied approaching the end of the backstretch, remained a factor to the stretch and tired. SILENT KING, wide throughout, failed to be a serious factor. EXATTIC moved within easy striking distance entering the backstretch but was finished nearing the far turn. ROMANTIC TRADITION was always outrun. BACK BAY BARRISTER wasn’t able to keep pace. MINSTREL STAR raced forwardly to the far turn and stopped badly.
